Bhasha Pravesha for Beginners by Sanskrit.Today. Exercise number: 26 dated 03-Aug-2021.

Question

Write 2 sets of sentences for each type of special saptami's as below. (Optionally in other vacanas if possible)

Example:

विषयरूप-आधारः

पुत्राणां मातरि प्रीतिः। पुत्राणां मात्रोः प्रीतिः। पुत्राणां मातॄषु प्रीतिः। Sons' love/affection is in mother. Sons' love/affection is in two mothers. Sons' love/affection is in many mothers.
बालकस्य क्रीडायाम् इच्छा। बालकस्य क्रीडयोः इच्छा। बालकस्य क्रीडासु इच्छा। Boy's desire is in play. Boy's desire is in two plays. Boy's desire is in plays.

अङ्गे ग्रहणं/ताडनम्

जननी शुशुं हस्ते गृह्णाति। Mother holds the baby at the hand.
योधः शत्रुं वक्षःस्थले प्रहरति। Warrior strikes enemy on the chest.

निपुण-कुशलादीनां प्रयोगः

सः शास्त्रे विद्वान्। He is learned in shashtras.
बालकः संस्कृतभाषणे समर्थः। Boy is capable/good at Sanskrit conversation.

Guidelines:

Try to have the answers in the same format with max of 3 or 4 words per sentence as above.
Try using all learned concepts so far. But at the same time avoid complex and untaught concepts.
English meanings are essential.
Any exercise participant can comment on others' answers. Also, learn vocabulary from others' answers.
Please answer only the questions asked in this exercise discussion and in the same pattern.

छात्राणां गुरौ आदरः।छात्राणां गुर्वोः आदरः। छात्राणां गुरुषु आदरः। Students' respect is in teacher. Students' respect is in two teachers. Students' respect is in many teachers.

अङ्गे ग्रहणं ताडनं

दुर्गादेवी आयुधम् पाणौ गृह्णाति। दुर्गादेवी आयुधे पाण्योः गृह्णाति। दुर्गादेवी आयुधानि पाणिषु गृह्णाति। Goddess Durga holds a weapon in a hand. Goddess Durga holds two weapons in two hands. Goddess Durga holds weapons in many hands.

इन्द्रः अञ्जनेयं हन्वोः प्रहारितवान्। Indra hit anjaneya on both the jaws.

निपुण कुशलादीनाम्

सा वीणा वादने निपुणा। She is an expert in playing Veena.

भवन्तौ शल्य चिकित्सायां कुशलौ। You both are good at surgery.

अङ्गे ग्रहणं/ताडनम्

आरक्षक: चोरं कण्ठे गृह्णाति। आरक्षकौ चोरौ कण्ठयो: गृह्णीत:। आरक्षका: चोरान् कण्ठेषु गृह्णन्ति। Policeman holds the thief at his neck. Two policemen hold two thieves at their (two) necks. Policemen (more than two) hold thieves (more than two) at their necks.

पिता पुत्रं हस्ते ताडयति। पिता पुत्रं हस्तयो: ताडयति। पिता पुत्रान् हस्तेषु ताडयति। Father hits son on hand. Father hits son on both the hands. Father hits sons (more than two) on the hands (more than two)

निपुण-कुशलादीनां प्रयोगः

सा पाचिकायाम् निपुणा। ते पाचिकयो: निपुणे। ता: पाचिकासु निपुणा:। She is skilled at cooking. They two (feminine) are skilled at cooking (two types). They all (feminine) are skilled at cooking (many types).

पण्डिता: तर्कशास्त्रे कुशला:। पण्डिता: तर्कशास्त्रयो: कुशला:। पण्डिता: तर्कशास्त्रेषु कुशला:। Pundits are eloquent in philosophical treatise. Pundits are eloquent in two philosophical treatises. Pundits are eloquent in many (more than two) philosophical treatises.

· आभरणे तस्याः रुचिः नास्ति I आभरणयोः तस्याः रुचिः नास्ति I आभरणेषु तस्याः रुचिः नास्ति I She has no interest in the ornament. She has no interest in the 2 ornaments. She has no interest in ornaments.

· मधुरभक्ष्ये कस्य प्रीतिः नास्ति ? मधुरभक्ष्ययोः कस्य प्रीतिः नास्ति ? मधुरभक्ष्येषु कस्य प्रीतिः नास्ति ? Who does not like the sweet? Who does not like the 2 sweets? Who does not like sweets?

अङ्गे-ग्रहणम् / ताडनम्

· शिवाजी महाराजः शत्रुं पृष्ठे प्रहृतवान् I Shivaji Maharaj striked/attacked the enemy on the back.

· गणपतिः हस्ते मोदकं गृह्णाति I Ganapati (Lord Ganesha) holds a modak in his hand.

निपुण-कुशलादिनां प्रयोगः

· सः चतुरङ्गे कुशलः I He is good at Chess

· एतस्मिन् विषये अहं निपुणा न I In this matter/subject, I am not an expert.

सा पाककलायाम् निपुणा। She is expert in cooking.

सः व्यवहारे सरलः। He is simple in behaviour .

भवती सर्वविषयेषु चतुरा। You(F) are clever in all subjects.

निर्धनयोः प्रीतिः भवतु | Have compassion to two poor persons.

निर्धनेषु प्रीतिः भवतु | Have compassion to many poor persons.

स्त्रियाम् आदरं दर्शय | Show respect to lady.

स्त्रियोः आदरं दर्शय | Show respect to two ladies.

स्त्रीषु आदरं दर्शय | Show respect to many ladies.

भीम: दुर्योधनं उरौ ताडितवान | Bheema beat Duryodhana on his thigh.

बालकः अन्यबालकं नासिकायां प्रहरति | Boy hits another boy on his nose.

निपुण-कुशलादीनां प्रयोगः

पुष्पेषु जाती श्रेष्टा | Among the flowers Jaati is best.

अर्जुनः धनुर्विद्यायां निपुणः | Arjuna excels in archery.

भीमः मल्लयुद्धे उत्तमः | Bhima is greatest in wrestling.

This is regular saptami. Saptami should be part of the आयुधम् (like handle)

अङ्गे ग्रहणं / ताडनम्

भारवाह: पेटिकां स्कन्धे गृह्णाति । Porter holds the suitcase on this shoulder.

अग्रज: अनुजं हस्ते ताडयति। The elder brother hits the younger brother on the hand.

निपुण-कुशलादीनां प्रयोगः

शकुन्तला देवी गणिते कुशला । Shakuntala Devi is competent in Mathematics.

चाणक्यः अर्थशास्त्रे निपुणः । Chanakya ia an expert in politics/economics.

Rti भारवाह: पेटिकां स्कन्धे गृह्णाति । Porter holds the suitcase on this shoulder.

It is regular saptami. It should be some part of पेटिका should be in saptami for this case. But स्कन्धः is not part of पेटिका but part of भारवाह.
